I first taught piano to students during my own school days in Hamburg. Since then, my greatest passion has been to make musical learning easy and enjoyable – attentively, patiently, and always on equal terms.

During my studies in instrumental pedagogy at the Berlin University of the Arts, I came across the Alexander Technique – and that changed everything. Until then, misguided ambition had repeatedly led me into tension that made fulfilling music-making and effective learning difficult. As a piano teacher, I have since witnessed how widespread this pattern is.

Faced with challenges, most people – children and adults alike – react in ways that hinder them. Excessive tension and shifts in perception and attitude are often linked to a fear of making mistakes.

At the same time, these very moments offer a unique opportunity for a valuable learning experience: In challenging situations, inner and outer composure are not only pleasant – they enable the achievement of goals more efficiently than habitual patterns of tension. When this connection is experienced in practice, frustration can transform into a joy of learning, paving the way for success.

In addition to musical work, I am particularly passionate about cultivating lightness in mind and body – as the foundation for fulfilling and effective music-making. My work incorporates my instrumental pedagogy training, three years of Alexander Technique teacher training, and further education in music physiology.
